<p> Produce companies, get ready to gear up for the Tour de Fresh. This four-day cycling event will unite companies and brands like California Giant Berry Farms, Oneonta Starr Ranch Growers, Bard Valley Natural Delights, FoodLink, Costco UK, Taylor Farms, Hannaford Brothers, CHEP, and Crunch Pak. Together, their goal is to raise $84,750 to finance 30 salad bars for United Fresh’s Let’s Move Salad Bars to Midwest Schools campaign.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Starting from October 13 through October 16, 2014, fresh produce industry members will travel 275 miles along the coast of California, starting in Carmel and finishing in Anaheim, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> “This is a way for our industry to organize an event that focuses on the very type of healthy activity and lifestyle choice that our products promote,” said Cindy Jewell, Director of Marketing for California Giant Berry Farms. “Fresh produce growers, packers, and vendors can all come together and show that we aren’t just talking about ways to live healthier, we are working to make it a reality.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> The event also provides fresh produce companies a unique opportunity to market their product lineup.
