RICHMOND, BC - The United States is waving hello to Canadian retailer and Loblaw Companies Limited banner T&T Supermarkets as it has announced its entry into the greater Seattle, Washington, area. The Asian grocery store revealed that it will open a location in Bellevue, Washington, in the summer of 2024, becoming one of the largest Asian supermarkets in the state.
"We know the love for T&T transcends borders. It's not unusual to see U.S. license plates in the parking lots of our British Columbia stores, with hundreds of customers regularly making the drive for our food," said Tina Lee, Chief Executive Officer, T&T Supermarkets. "After 30 successful years in Canada, we couldn't be more excited to bring our unique offering closer to home for customers in the U.S."
The flagship store will sit at 76,000 square feet and will be filled with the Asian cuisine that the chain has become famous for, a release stated. This new location will feature a sushi counter, hot food bar, noodle station and in-store kitchen, and a bakery.
With the opening of the Washington store, T&T Supermarkets will create over 300 jobs for the local community. Additionally, T&T will be establishing a regional office in the greater Los Angeles area and is immediately hiring for office positions like buyers and category managers.
