<p>USA Onions, the Idaho Potato Commission along with Idaho agricultural producers and commodity commissions are participating in an all-Idaho promotion in Chicago slated for February 20 & 21, 2014.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Sherise Jones, Marketing Director for USA Onions, tells AndNowUKnow, "Collectively our Idaho industry producers and organizations have had great success with bringing editors and foodservice operators to Idaho and Oregon for events such as this. The promotion is another way for us to rally the industry and promote the state's unique and plentiful resources."</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The Idaho State Department of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Idaho-Eastern Oregon Onion Committee and the Idaho Potato Commission, will conduct a foodservice promotion consisting of a series of activities ranging from a Customer Appreciation Reception on Thursday, February 20th held at Chef’s Burger Bistro with chef stations highlighting different organization’s products to a young chef competition hosted by Master Chef Edward Leonard of Le Cordon Bleu College on the 21st. Scholarship allotments (amount TBD) will be awarded to top 3 finalists at the competition. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>A Media and Foodservice Educators Reception at Kendall College will also take place on Friday, February 21st in the evening. The event, held in conjunction with CAFÉ Group’s annual foodservice educators conference, will host approximately 75 foodservice educators (including Deans and Directors of U.S. culinary colleges), consumer press, and foodservice editors.
