BENTONVILLE, AR - Incentives could be the difference between a highly effective team and a disjointed group of employees. As if there weren’t already enough reasons to work for Walmart, the retailer is further incentivizing its fleet of drivers with the implementation of new onboarding technology in partnership with Platform Science.

Scott Donahue, Vice President, Innovation and Automation Product, Walmart“Not only are we offering industry-leading benefits, compensation, and development programs, but we have implemented two technology tools that work together to create a world-class driver experience and provide real-time visibility to the day-to-day operations of our network of more than 12,000 drivers,” said Scott Donahue, Vice President, Innovation and Automation Product at Walmart.

As explained in a blog post from Walmart, all of the retailer’s Private Fleet cabs are now equipped with an intuitive tablet that is fully integrated with NTransit. Through this system, private fleet drivers have access to a more streamlined and transparent onboarding process.

By implementing this new technology, Walmart builds on an already strong foundation of transportation transformation. Drivers will now be supported by better visibility, enhanced communication, and greater productivity and retention.

“A point of pride for the Platform Science and Walmart collaboration has been the significant increase in driver satisfaction, reflecting the best-in-class experience we want to provide,” Donahue continued. “We plan to continue improving and evolving our onboard systems based on feedback from our drivers and store associates so our supply chain associates can do their jobs with safety, courtesy, and pride. Walmart will continue to invest in disruptive technologies to take flight in today’s complex retail environment.”
