Westmoreland Sales has announced the addition of Jimmy Coppola to the company’s TopLine team.
As Account Manager, Coppola will work with major retail buyers, wholesale and foodservice, as well as growers. He will deal with commodities including greenhouse tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, and a long line of specialties.
“I found all I desired here at TopLine. From a great group of owners, a great team and a great portfolio of fresh greenhouse produce which I am eager to promote and help grow,” said Coppola.
Coppola has been involved with the greenhouse industry for over 6 years and produce marketing for over four years, but his ties to the industry run deeper than that. As a young child Jimmy spent breaks helping family friends in their greenhouses in Leamington, Ontario, the greenhouse capital.
"I was fortunate enough to work along-side some of the best greenhouse consultants in our area accumulating a wealth of knowledge of the inner workings of the greenhouses and how plants are grown and maintained in those greenhouses. This information directly translates to the marketing of produce…when one knows the characteristics of the growth of a plant and the production of the fruit it is a great help in marketing of that produce,” he commented.
Coppola’s aspirations transcend the produce industry-he dreams of the silver screen. Coppola hopes to one day direct and release a feature film. “With a last name like mine I am hoping my foot is already in the door,” he concluded.
