KINGSVILLE, ON - Del Fresco Pure® is proud to mark a major milestone at the 2026 Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) Convention and Trade Show—celebrating 70 years of greenhouse growing excellence. This year’s presence blends heritage, innovation, and culture under the theme: Welcome to Nonna’s House.
At booth #1631, attendees are invited to step into a warm, nostalgic Italian kitchen experience inspired by Nonna’s welcoming home, where the table is always set, the kitchen is always full of life, and every guest is treated like family. The space honours the company’s roots while showcasing the future of fresh produce, bringing together tradition, comfort, and innovation under one roof.
Innovation Meets Sustainability
As part of its continued commitment to sustainable packaging solutions, Del Fresco Pure® will unveil its new sustainable top seal for The Original Cherry Tomatoes on the Vine, designed to significantly reduce plastic use while maintaining the freshness, protection, and premium shelf appeal consumers expect. The updated design supports improved recyclability and reflects the company’s ongoing focus on reducing environmental impact across its packaging portfolio, without compromising quality or product integrity from greenhouse to shelf.
The company is also launching its King Pack, 3-pack Organic English Seedless Cucumbers, a larger-format offering designed for the way people snack, share, and entertain today. Built for high-consumption households, the King Pack brings together value, convenience, and versatility in one simple grab-and-go format—perfect for everything from the Logan inspired cucumber salads to family platters and hosting moments – because sometimes one cucumber isn’t enough – you need three. It also reflects a smarter approach to packaging efficiency, helping reduce overall waste through optimized sizing and a better product-to-package ratio, without compromising on freshness or greenhouse-grown quality. In short, it’s more cucumbers, less hassle, and an easier way to keep fresh eating front and centre.
“Both of these innovations reflect who we are as growers—always looking forward, but never losing sight of quality, sustainability, and care for the end consumer,” said Ray Mastronardi, President, Del Fresco Pure®, in the recent release. “Every decision we make in packaging and product development starts in the greenhouse and ends at the kitchen table.”
Celebrating Culture, Community & a Viral Movement
Building on the cultural impact of fresh, simple ingredients and the global excitement sparked by the cucumber salad trend, Del Fresco Pure®—together with brand ambassador Logan Moffitt—is proud to officially announce the launch of National Cucumber Salad Day, taking place annually on July 8.
Inspired by the viral movement led by Logan himself, the day celebrates the creativity, simplicity, and cultural moment that turned the humble cucumber salad into a social media phenomenon. The inaugural celebration honours the anniversary of the original post that ignited the craze, cementing cucumbers as a staple of modern, accessible, and endlessly customizable eating. “I’ve always been a HUGE fan of produce, and cucumbers. Seeing so many people online getting excited about eating cucumbers just like I am made me so happy. I think cucumbers are one of the most versatile vegetables which is what makes it so perfect for any variation of cucumber salad!” Said Logan Moffitt.
To bring the movement to life at CPMA 2026, Logan Moffitt will appear at the booth on Day 1, April 29, connecting with attendees, sharing his signature cucumber creations, and celebrating the community that helped turn a simple idea into a global food moment.
“National Cucumber Salad Day is a perfect example of how food can bring people together in unexpected and meaningful ways,” said Jamie D'Alimonte. “What started as a simple, creative idea has become a cultural moment—and we’re proud to help celebrate and grow that movement alongside Logan and our retail partners.”
A True Family Affair
In keeping with the Welcome to Nonna’s House theme, Day 2 – April 30 will lean fully into the heart of family, tradition, and the kind of hospitality that feels like walking into Nonna’s kitchen on a Sunday afternoon.
Special appearances from beloved personalities will bring that spirit to life on the show floor, including:
Together, they will create an authentic, story-driven experience that blends humour, nostalgia, and real-life family moments. From shared recipes and generational food traditions to light-hearted storytelling and cultural pride, guests will be welcomed into an atmosphere that feels less like a trade show booth and more like a lively family gathering.
It’s a celebration of where food begins—at home, around the table—and the people who keep those traditions alive.
“CPMA has always been about connection—but this year, it truly feels like we’re inviting people into our home,” said Sonia Klinger, Del Fresco Pure®. “Nonna’s House is more than a theme; it’s a feeling of warmth, family, and sharing that we’re proud to bring to life on the show floor.”
A Taste of Nonna’s Kitchen
Visitors can enjoy a curated menu that celebrates fresh, greenhouse grown ingredients with a creative twist, including:
“Reaching 70 years is an incredible milestone for our family and our team,” said Carl Mastronardi, President at Del Fresco Pure®. “At CPMA 2026, we’re not just showcasing products—we’re inviting people into our story. Nonna’s House represents where we came from, and the innovation we’re sharing reflects where we’re going.”
NEW ZEALAND - Zespri has launched a refreshed global brand platform, Grown for Good, reinforcing its commitment to natural nutrition and creating value across the kiwifruit industry - for consumers, customers, growers, and its people.
At a time when many people are overfed yet undernourished, Grown for Good sharpens Zespri’s focus on helping close everyday nutrition gaps with great-tasting, nutrient-dense kiwifruit, backed by science and delivered through strong partnerships from orchard to store.
Building on the success of Zespri’s previous platform, Make Your Healthy Irresistible, Grown for Good reflects Zespri’s purpose in action - going beyond advertising to champion nutrition in-market, support customers and shoppers with clearer nutrition leadership, enable growers to continue lifting quality and sustainability, and unite teams behind long-term, purposeful growth.
Zespri Chief Marketing Officer Kok Hwee Ng says in the recent release that the strength of the Zespri brand gives it both a platform and a responsibility to lead with purpose.
“Our previous platform has served Zespri well, with consumers around the world choosing us for great taste, quality, and nutrition. In 2025 our fruit reached a record 116 million consumer households, and Zespri was also the number one fruit brand in its core 15 markets for the second year in a row.
“As part of our 2035 strategy and ambition to become the world’s healthiest fruit brand, now is the right time to refresh how we show up. Consumer expectations are changing, and competition is intensifying across an increasingly cluttered fruit category.
“Grown for Good is our opportunity to lift the bar - to place nutrition at the center of everything Zespri grows, markets and stands for, marking a significant moment in our evolution.”
A world that is overfed, yet undernourished
Modern living has created a paradox where many people are overfed, yet undernourished. This is known as ‘hidden hunger’ and is a growing threat to global public health, and exists in both developing and developed markets.
Kok Hwee Ng says, “Hidden hunger is widening the gap between what we eat and what our bodies need. It is an issue that affects more people than they know, and we want to guide consumers to better nutrition that is actionable every day.
“To truly become an iconic brand delivering long-term societal impact through natural nutrition, our actions must go beyond campaigns. We’re committed to building broader awareness of hidden hunger, and empowering consumers with simple, actionable ways to make more nourishing choices.”
This includes scaling up nutrition literacy efforts and leading with science-backed communications and innovation, such as Zespri’s EU Commission-approved Green kiwifruit health claim. Alongside this, Zespri will continue to engage shoppers with clear nutrition and health messages, while never losing sight of the fundamentals, delivering a great-tasting, high-quality product experience.
“And it’s grounded in how we grow - from intentional growing practices and science-backed health benefits of our kiwifruit, to an enduring commitment shared by Zespri, our growers and our industry partners.”
Market rollout
Grown for Good will launch across Zespri’s core markets globally with the 2026 New Zealand kiwifruit season.
Join the movement
Zespri is inviting the world to join #GrownForGood because food should not just fill us, but nourish us, one kiwifruit at a time.
