SALINAS, CA – Value-added veggies and packaged salads are an increasingly-important component of our produce aisles and kitchens, adding sales dollars and creating cross-merchandising opportunities for a variety of products in-store and saving prep time in the restaurant space. Ippolito International is gearing up to meet the market head on, with value-added foodservice and retail offerings aimed at cutting costs and driving sales.
I recently had the opportunity to speak with Henry Dill, Ippolito International’s VP of Sales, to learn more about the company’s value-added in-store and foodservice offerings.
“We’ve enacted a large value-added component, and we do cut Brussels sprouts, shredded Brussels sprouts...cello spinach…cauliflower florets, broccoli florets, cauliflower rice, and there’s a few other items we could probably add to the mix,” Henry told me, hinting that new value-added offerings may be on the horizon.
Additionally, Henry noted, Ippolito International has introduced a line of clam-shelled salad blends for on-the-go consumers in grocery stores throughout North America.
