SALINAS, CA - A technology alliance promises to bring the power of data and artificial intelligence (AI) to the produce industry. ThroughPut.AI and Inteligistics recently announced a partnership to do precisely that!

Both companies noted their ability to address inefficiencies in areas ranging from harvest and pre-cooling, packing and shipping, in-transit visibility, temperature monitoring, route optimization, dwell time, shipment unloading and storage, mis-picked product, and resulting inventory inaccuracies.
As each of these inefficiencies can negatively impact profit margins, they are of paramount importance to your operations.

WATSONVILLE, CA - Summertime blockbusters usually mean superhero movies, but this blockbuster hit is none other than a produce mashup. A collaborative partnership between California Giant Berry Farms and two other associations is about to put some serious heat into snacking.
"This summer, we're excited to partner with the California Avocado Commission and California Walnut Commission to create fun and interactive campaigns that goes beyond traditional advertising," said Kyla Oberman, Director of Marketing, California Giant Berry Farms. "By engaging consumers on social media and offering exciting giveaways, we're aiming to generate craveability and inspire purchase intent by encouraging consumers to explore the delicious possibilities of our products. We believe this collaborative effort will not only boost consumption of all three ingredients but also create a summer snacking movement that celebrates healthy eating and fresh flavors."
According to a press release, these partnerships highlight the versatility and complementary nature of California Giant berries, California avocados, and California walnuts, creating a powerhouse of nutrients for optimal health in every bite.
“Our social media promotions are a strategic tool to drive excitement and encourage consumption during peak season. By offering compelling incentives and new, exciting snack combinations, we're making it easier for customers to enjoy the bounty of the season,” added Oberman.
The Summer Snacking Duos sweepstakes will begin with the California Avocado Commission partnership, which begins today and runs through June 19, 2024. The next sweepstakes will feature the California Walnut Commission partnership, running from June 20—June 23, 2024.

WASHINGTON - We love seeing hard-working farmers gain well-deserved recognition, and that’s exactly what Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) has gifted us with as it unveils the winner of its inaugural Grow the Good Farmworker of the Year Award. FirstFruits Farms’ Maria de Sagrario Iglesias has been honored with the first-ever distinction.
“We cannot overstate the significance of farmworkers to our food system. Their dedication and hard work are the foundation upon which the entire agriculture industry stands,” said LeAnne Ruzzamenti, Director of Marketing Communications for EFI. “This award is a step toward giving them the recognition and appreciation for the essential role they play.”

Iglesias was chosen as one of five finalists among more than 40 nominations. She has dedicated her 35 years in ag to working with FirstFruits Farms, working in various roles from planting and nursery to pruning and packing. As a press release stated, her extensive experience has provided her with the opportunity to train many of her coworkers, who report that she is known for her willingness to lead and share insights. Iglesias’ nomination also highlighted her kindness, thoughtfulness, and natural leadership, along with her dedication to her work and her commitment to leading by example.
This award is presented in partnership with The Packer. Other finalists of the program include Andres Aguilar of Stemilt Growers, Crisanta Morales of Wholesum Family Farms, Eduardo Avina of Misionero, and José Luis Segura of Mastronardi Produce®.
